Students to host second annual Turkey Trot: 5K Walk/Run

Scranton, Pennsylvania – On Saturday, November 19, The Commonwealth Medical College’s (TCMC) MD Class of 2014 will host the second annual Turkey Trot: 5K Walk/Run in downtown Scranton. The event will also feature a Tot Trot for those 13 years of age and under. Proceeds of the student’s community fundraiser will benefit Friends of the Poor annual Thanksgiving community dinner.

Check in for the Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run begins at 7:30am in the main lobby of the Medical Sciences Building at TCMC located at 525 Pine Street, Scranton, Pa. The Tot Trot steps off at 8:30am and the 5K Walk/Run begins at 9am. T-shirts will be provided to the first 100 pre-registered participants.

Race day registration fee is $20 (ages 14 and above) or participants can pre-register online for $15. Registration for the Tot Trot is $5 or two canned goods to be donated to the food drive.

The 5K Walk/Run route begins and ends at TCMC’s Medical Sciences Building at 525 Pine Street. Fast Finishes will be the official timekeeper of the event.

Turkey Trot participants are also invited to bring food and clothing donations the morning of race day.
