TCMC students to compete in 30th W-B Triathlon

TCMC students Nicholas Serniak and Sean Wallace will compete in the 30th Wilkes-Barre Triathlon on Sunday, August 14 as a relay team. They join nearly 400 athletes competing in the 1.5 kilometer swim, 40 kilometer bike, and 11 kilometer run.

Wallace, 23, is a second year medical student from Clarks Summit, Pa. A 2010 charter class member of the Masters in Biomedical Science Program at TCMC, he received his bachelor degree in biology: vertebrate physiology from Pennsylvania State University in 2009.

Serniak, 22, is a first year medical student from Mayfield, Pa. He received his bachelor degree in biochemistry from University of Scranton in 2011.

Both students spent the summer working as interns in the Basic Sciences Department at TCMC investigating the molecular genetics of hereditary breast cancer.
