Linda Thomas-Hemak, MD to deliver keynote address

Scranton, Pennsylvania – Officials of The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) will hold a White Coat Ceremony for its Class of 2015 on Friday, August 12, 2020 at 4 p.m. at The Mellow Theater at Lackawanna College in Scranton. Sixty-five medical students admitted to TCMC’s third class will receive their white coats – a mantle of the medical profession – in a hands-on experience that symbolizes the bonding process between physician and patient in the presence of TCMC faculty and staff, family and friends.

An inspirational address by Linda Thomas-Hemak, MD, director of the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program at The Wright Center for Graduate Education, will commemorate the event and remind physicians-in training about the importance of compassionate care in the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Thomas-Hemak is also president of The Wright Center Medical Group faculty practice plan and chairman of pediatrics and president of the medical staff of the Regional Hospital of Scranton.

A TCMC clinical faculty member, Dr. Thomas-Hemak serves as secretary and Strategic Planning Committee chair and is a founding member of the Board of Trustees.
