Williamsport, Pennsylvania –The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4 to 7pm at Gus Genetti’s Hotel and Suites, 200 W. 4th Street in Williamsport.  Students interested in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or a Masters of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree are invited to attend. TCMC Clinical Faculty as well as representatives from TCMC’s Admissions, Student Affairs, Social Justice and Diversity and Financial Aid departments will be on hand to discuss the programs in detail including: admissions criteria, curriculum and the regional campus/community experience.

From the very beginning of their medical education, students will truly be a part of the Williamsport community as they will begin to follow a local multi-generational family for all four years of their medical education under the guidance of a clinical mentor. Students will live and work in the area for (3) one week community experiences during the first two years of medical education and will move to Williamsport for the entire third and fourth years.   They will learn about healthcare issues through the eyes and experiences of their volunteer family with their Williamsport area physician mentor as their guide. Currently, there are 116 TCMC Clinical Faculty members in the Williamsport Regional Campus from across Lycoming, Clinton, Tioga, Bradford and Sullivan Counties. These local area physicians and Williamsport Region medical students will shape the future of healthcare by learning to stay connected to the most important part of healthcare – the patient. And the community support of this next generation of Williamsport area physicians will make all the difference in their success.

The goal of The Commonwealth Medical College is to educate a generation of physicians and scientists who are dedicated to continuously enhancing their skills throughout their careers, who use new knowledge and technology to adopt best practices and care for a growing spectrum of health issues within the community setting, and who are strong communicators as well as healers. Focusing on selecting students with a propensity for community service, the College’s integrated, and competency based curriculum is designed to provide students with early clinical experiences in diverse healthcare settings. The College has campuses in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport and currently has over 557 clinical faculty members.

No reservations required. For more information, please contact [email protected].
