The
Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
With its goal of upgrading or improving the knowledge, attitudes, skills and practice behaviors of physicians and healthcare workers, TCMC supports the development of continuing medical education (CME) programming for physicians and healthcare professionals.
Physicians need to participate in both AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™ educational activities for a balanced personal educational program and to maintain his/her medical license.
CME activities must not promote recommendations, treatment or manners of practicing medicine that are known to have risks or dangers that outweigh the benefits, or are known to be ineffective in the treatment of patients. Note that an organization whose program of CME is devoted to advocacy of unscientific modalities of diagnosis or therapy is not eligible to apply for accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®).
For more information, please use the key links on the right side of the page, or contact the Office of CME.
In addition to Continuing Medical Education, TCMC offers several ways for physicians to become involved in the student learning process. If you’d like to become a continuity mentor, clinical preceptor or clinical educator, please visit our Clinical Faculty page.
